A Well-Planned Retirement

This was in the Wall Street Journal

Outside England 's Bristol Zoo there is a parking lot for 150 cars and 8 buses. For 25 years, its parking fees were managed by a very pleasant attendant. The fees were 1 lb for cars ($1.40), 5 lb for buses (about $7).

Then, one day, after 25 solid years of never missing a day of work, he just didn't show up; so Zoo Management called the City Council and asked it to send them another parking agent.

The Council did some research and replied that the parking lot was the Zoo's own responsibility. The Zoo advised the Council that the attendant was a City employee. The City Council responded that the lot attendant had never been on the City payroll.

Meanwhile, sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain (or some such scenario), is a man who'd apparently had a ticket machine installed completely on his own; and then had simply begun to show up every day, commencing to collect and keep the parking fees, estimated at about $560 per day -- for 25 years.

Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over $7 million dollars! .......

And no one even knows his name.

Happy Fathers Day to this Hunk of a Man.......I can honestly say that my kids have one of the best Dad’s in the WORLD! He is kind, thoughtful, and very supportive. He is incredibly positive and has instilled in our children a belief, that they can do anything!

 Happy Father's day Lance!

Happy Father’s Day to this AMAZING Guy!

Dad,

Not only do I have your brown eyes, I get my olive skin from you, my quirky nose, and my bird legs. When I think of you I am overcome with emotion. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am to have you as my Dad.

You have always been true and faithful to what you believe, and you are the most service oriented person I know. Whether you are serving as Bishop, Sunday school teacher, or in the YM program, you always give 110%. I have never known someone to work as hard as you. Your work ethic is unbelievable! You are Always on the Go and have so much energy. It’s hard to believe you are approaching your 70’s. Yikes!

I think of all those late nights you waited up for me, or the long hours of work you put in so we kids could have the things we needed. When something gets tough, and I want to give-up, I just think of you Dad. I think of your persistence and faith, and your willingness to always go the extra mile.

I love you DAD!
