What is a Mother?

According to the online dictionary the definition of a Mother is: "a female person who is pregnant with or gives birth to a child"

I could not disagree more!

To me...a mother is a female who loves, inspires, nurtures, and encourages another.

I know Many women, who for various reasons have been unable to have biological children of their own. I have witnessed their love and devotion to children they have adopted. I have watched them nurture and love my own children, their nieces and nephews, and I have experienced the love and devotion they have for youth groups they have served. They are literally changing generations with their love.

The love of a true mother comes near to being like the love of God.

Sisters, you do not know how far your influence extends. A mother that is successful in raising a good boy, or girl, to imitate her example and to follow her precepts through life, sows the seeds of virtue, honor and integrity and of righteousness in their hearts that will be felt through all their career in life; and wherever that boy or girl goes, as man or woman, in whatever society they mingle, the good effects of the example of that mother upon them will be felt; and it will never die, because it will extend from them to their children from generation to generation.
Joseph F. Smith

For those readers who know me well, you know how much I adore my mother. You can read about it HERE

Another year older and wiser too?!

On April 22nd I celebrated my Birthday.
Another year older and wiser, Right?

As I reflect back on this past year I cant help but think of all the wonderful opportunities and blessings I have been given. Along with the good comes the not so good. It's also been a year of frustration and a few stumbling blocks. Isn't that life?
If there is one thing I know- it's this......If you continue to be consistent and faithful with the covenants you have made- day in and day out, you will draw nearer to your Heavenly Father, receive the companionship of the Holy Ghost and you'll be given the strength and inspiration you need to move forward.
It's been a year of great growth for me.
I love my little family more than ever and I'm grateful for the eternal memories we have made and will continue to make together.
I'm grateful for a Husband who softly whispers in my ear ....
"You are a beautiful person"
It inspires me to be a little kinder, a whole lot better, and to give my absolute all when doing something.

I cant imagine my life without my Family and Friends.
One of the things I look most forward to on my birthday is when all six of my siblings call and tell me how much they love me.

It was a great day!
