To be, or not to be, that is the question

Did you know that April is poetry month?

 A poem is simply lyrics without music and touches my heart just the same.
  

I had the opportunity to judge a Poetry contest at one of our local elementary schools a few weeks ago.

I loved every minute of it!

It was so sweet to watch the little ones get up and recite their poems, but I was unexpectedly moved and touched as I watched the 5th and 6th grade kids recite Shakespeare.

I Love the beauty of the poem below. It's one of my favorites. I'm sure many of you have felt this same way about your children.

Sometimes I wonder…….Does anybody ever read this thing!? Every once in awhile I’ll have some sweet person come up to me and mention something they enjoyed about my blog. (OK, so maybe there are two or three of you who occasionally read my blog?)  

 Often times I will meet people after a show or a fireside and Because of time constraints we visit briefly then go.  It's just not enough time to get to know each other. My purpose for this blog is for you to get to know me.  I was hesitant to post pictures of my family (I realize the safety issues) but in order for you to get to know me (ALL OF ME) this includes the occasional blog post about my family. They are a huge part of my life!

 If something inspires me I blog about it.  I’m inspired by fashion, nature, my children and by a good friend with a kind heart. Obviously music inspires me beyond words. Music is at the core of who I am.

Be inspired by whatever it is you love!

No matter how long I Have been doing this, I sill find it a little uncomfortable promoting myself.  In fact, a good friend told me I'm terrible at it. I realize its part of the business.  I promise to be better at posting my new songs and videos.

This year my family and I celebrated Thanksgiving at my parents house. I wish you all could have been there. We really know how to Party!

Sundance

I can't think of anything better than doing a Fireside for a group of Relief Society sisters at a cabin in Beautiful Sundance, UT.
I have enjoyed doing Firesides for YM & YW groups over the years but this year I have started doing Firesides for Relief Society sisters as well. I am AMAZED at the response, especially with my song "Broken" ( I will blog about that later)

It's always a wonderful opportunity to do a Fireside for different Stakes but I love-love-love doing them for smaller groups like this. It's so warm and inviting and I get to visit with each of you afterward.

 (That's my favorite part)

Every time I start to question myself and the decisions I have made concerning my music, I am reminded of the beautiful spirit I feel each time I get to do this. That's when, I know, I am right where I'm supposed to be........
