The Journey

Being in the music world can be a little daunting. Most people don't realize it's much more then just getting on stage and singing a song. There is so much work that goes into it. Without the support of those around you, it's virtually impossible to accomplish your goals.
You will find random posts of people who have helped me along my Journey. The first person I would like to introduce, is...... my cute Lance. Not only is he an AMAZING father and husband, he is an INCREDIBLE person. LUCKY ME!!! He has always been supportive of me and my music. He schedules most of my performances, and is always willing to take the kids when I am working. Thanks for loving me, and supporting me on this wonderful Journey.

Lookout, you could be next on my post!

Sweet Imperfection

As many of you may know I have started working on my first inspirational album. Typically before heading to the studio I will have the music learned and the song prepared vocally how I want it. Things were no different this time around. I get to the studio, start singing, and quickly realize that there was something missing from the song..... EMOTION!!!!! I decided to take a little break. I went in the bathroom knelt down and asked that the spirit of the song could be heard and felt through my voice. I went back in the little room, put the headphones on, and started to sing. I was overcome with emotion. By the second chorus tears were streaming down my face. I am not sure how I made it through the song.

God knows us, loves us, and is in the details of our lives. Needless to say I left the studio that day with a vocally imperfect song, and i could NOT be happier. There is an authenticity that just cant be replaced. It's my hope that you who listen will feel the emotion and Spirit I felt while recording this song. I truly sang from the depths of my soul!

About me

From classical to country, music from every genre has the unique ability to uplift and inspire those who listen. And inspiring others has always been Jodi’s ultimate goal. A performer for most of her life, Jodi’s passion for music began when she was only a child.

A naturally talented singer, Jodi’s tremendous ability was discovered at the young age of five when Jodi’s dad bought the family an 8-track karaoke singing machine. Jodi would listen to her mom singing and began to sing along. That’s when Jodi’s mom noticed she was singing the songs note for note, on key every time. Right away her mom knew Jodi was something special.

Jodi soon found a love for singing and performing. She loved the way it made her feel and the way it made others feel as well. She began to sing for anyone who would listen. Literally Family members, friends, anyone who cared to hear would be treated to a show of Jodi’s amazing vocals. She would even knock on the doors of the older folks in the neighborhood and sing for them. Soon she began performing for the neighborhood kids, charging a mere $0.25 cents per person.

Jodi’s exceptional talent soon became very popular and widely known throughout her tightly-knit community. Most people referred to her as their “small-town star.” She began singing at every available venue in town – weddings, funerals community and church events – Jodi hit them all.

By the age of ten, Jodi began making a name for herself throughout the state of Utah and in no time, was singing in front of thousands in Las Vegas with the Utah-based country group SHeDAISY, formally known as the Osborn sisters. From there Jodi’s music has taken her from Utah to California to Nashville to Indiana and everywhere in between.

While performing through the years, Jodi has passed up several opportunities to sign with labels. Jodi realized early on the importance of placing her family first and staying true to the music she is most passionate about. Jodi’s ultimate goal is touching others through the Spirit of her music.

Jodi’s rich vocals demand attention, but the tender side of her voice invokes great emotion. One friend commented, “I have never felt the spirit so intensely since the last time I heard you sing. You have the voice of a true angel!” It’s this level of spiritual experience for herself and for others that drives Jodi’s passion for singing.

Jodi Lee was born and raised in Southern Utah, a small-town with a population of just 5,000. Jodi is the 6th of 7 children, and currently lives in Lindon, Utah with her husband Lance, and their two children, Kamas and Winnter. Jodi has never had any formal musical instruction.
